Instead of showing how ruthless she is and how she WOULD originally sacrifice Ciri in a heartbeat, she came across as doubtful of the whole thing). It also could have been a good time to show her calculating side, and how she would sacrifice Ciri in an instant, only to then go back once her other weakness (wanting a kid but being infertile) got a hold of her (they did that, but instead of having her come across as in a weak position but strong-willed enough to get through anyway, she came across as a a damsel in distress. That could have been a good idea, as it could have shown us that she isn't only strong because of her magic, but also because her strong will can get her through anything. Yennefer, the strong woman, whose character arc revolved around exploiting her weakness, which is her dependency on magic. The only tears I shed that night were tears of disappointment. They are so unremarkable that they killed one in the same episode they introduced him in a moment so emotionnal I cant remember which died. Those are fan favorites, known because of the games, and should have gotten some special attention.

Vesemir is supposed to be wise, a mentor figure to Geralt, but instead he came across as someone who doesnt think things through.

And that is without talking about how, after hinting that he was traumatized about the horrors the trial of the grasses inflicted on kids, he suddenly wanted to do it on Ciri (which is btw his only elder blood supply, so if things went wrong, witchers would go extinct). Vesemir's character arc was horrible and nonsensical, with him and other witchers taking most of the season to accept Ciri, then obstinately trying to kill her as soon as things get difficult. Most of the problems I have with this season are with the character arcs. They also have very good actors in the rest of the cast, but the blatant flaws in the character arcs of most other characters biased me too much for me to truly talk about their performance. Fourth, they got Joey Batey doing an absolutely iconic Jaskier. Third, the Nivellen episode was great, tho it may appear greater in sheer comparison with the rest of the show. Second, they put things in a chronological order, which makes it much easier to understand. First, Henry Cavill as Geralt really gets the look, thats for sure. Don't get me wrong, this season has some great things going for it.

By episode 4 i didn't really care about watching and had to force my self to complete it. If Merlin, which sucks, where made by CW it would be pretty much like this. If season 3 is like season 2, this show died before it even began. Actually, i wont bother watching it unless the reviews are great. I struggled to get through this season and im not at all looking forward to season 3.

But i guess Netflix aren't that interested in making money. I mean, creating something great, true to source material which is already perfect, would please the fans, create more buzz, increase rewatchability and make Netflix a lot of money. It baffles me that Netflix are so careless with their IPs. And everything bad about season 1? Yeah, theres even more of that here. And just to point out, the dialogue is often so bad.Īlso, everything people like with season 1, yeah theres even less of that here. The liberties they took (more or less the whole season tbh) makes the show worse. Actually, its not the witcher at all anymore. Or fan fiction set in The witcher universe. This isnt an adaption, its a reimagining.
